Harness Webbing Breastplates Styles, Sizes
& Training Collars

These plates are a Full Breastplate which covers the chin, throat, neck, chest, belly and the complete shoulder area. They are manufactured by us J.S.ENT and are available with shoulder extensions and tracking collar inserts. All plates are custom made.

The plates have no buckles or clips, they are done up with high quality Velcro straps, in the neck collar and the belly straps. The design of the plate gives full adjustment via the neck collar, back and belly straps (two straps for adjustment around the girth) and via the brisket strap. Girth straps have two sets of small security tags top and bottom to give that guarantee of not coming undone when hunting.

Generally either size will fit 4 out of 5 dogs before the actual plate itself has to be resized.
What we have done is put a sleeve under the throat of the breastplate for a standard dog collar to be inserted and do up around the neck and over the Velcro (Added security).
It gives you the option of chaining or leading their dog and as the collar isn't fixed to the plate the dog won’t pull the plate to any one side of its body and twist the plate around.

Training collars are double thickness. They are made to fit tightly up under the chin and sit right behind the ears. When a pup starts to out grow of the training collar or is in need of a breastplate, we are able to just extend it or use the same collar as the beginning of a new breastplate, saving you money. The same applies for breastplates they can be resized at anytime.

MATERIAL
Harness webbing material has been designed specifically to our specifications It is similar to seatbelt webbing except it’s a lot courser ( thicker) and wider in the thread and tighter stitching. It has been put through 2 stages of process to stop any fraying of the material (thread ) Marine thread is used to sew the plates or collars together and a high quality Velcro is used on all straps. Light weight and flexible.

MAINTANENCE
If the plate gets slightly stiff from blood and mud put the plate in a bucket of water with some napisan, soak it over night, hose it out the next day and through it in the missus washing machine for a quick wash (optional, if the missus lets you).

IN THE FIELD
I have been using the plates for over 8 yrs on my own dogs whilst running APFE Hunting Safaris, manufacturing and distributing them over the last 7yrs.

Since using the plates the dogs have caught plenty of tusky boars with only a few minor changes to the plates to make them better in the field.

In the heat I have found the dogs to cope very well probably due to the fact of the weight of the plate and the material being able to stay damp for a while after the dogs have been in water helping them stay cooler a little bit longer.

To some up my opinion on the plates is they are light and the flexibility is brilliant, complete movement and protection for the dog without the weight. Although I have found the dogs bruise a little easier. I am also very impressed with how quick and easy the plates are to put on and the plate's ability to adjust and fit different size dogs.

One major bonus of the plates is that they can be resized, shortened or extended
