Marshall Radio Telemetry Testimonials
Testimonials By:
I first found out about the Marshall Tracking products by a friend who had heard about it in the states and how it offered great tracking range and being strong, dependable gear.
So I set about finding out where I could lay my hands on some to try, as I was getting pretty fed up with the Tracker Maxima I was usingdue to the lack of range and the high running cost due to the batteries it used.
After contacting JS Enterprises in Australia, I found that the Marshall system was reasonably priced and offered just what I was after, Cheap running cost and great tracking ability in a good sized package.
The first time I used the receiver I found it easy to use and quick to function. The country is pine forest with lots of thick high spiky gorse and big long gully’s that can make catching pigs hard.
As I walk along one of the many old forestry roads the dogs work the air scenting for any sign, as I made my way up along the side of a big gully the dogs seemed to pick up and worked the ground and air scents. My main dog had gone bush closely followed by the rest of the pack.
Time seemed to go by slowly now as I waited ready for any noise or action. After what seemed like ages still nothing, this was not looking good, time to put the new gear to the test!
Using the Marshall gear I found it easy to move to locate the dogs at the same time closing in on their location.
I found that even in the thick scrub conditions I was able to track the dogs easily. I found that my main dog was some distance away and the others all heading in the same direction.
They had worked down into the bottom of a steep tight highly dense gully where I could finally hear the action, and it sounded like it was a good one.
I finally made it through the thick crap to where the dogs where holding a good size boar and sporting a nice set of tusks for this location. I dispatched the boar and then set out the task of getting it ready for the carry out and it was only then that I realized just how far the dogsand I had traveled.
I had managed to both locate and track the dogs down easily and accurately with none of the problems I used to have with my old Tracker Maxima. I had no signal bouncing around and even when the other dogs were close I had no interference form the other collars.
I finally got the pig back to the truck after a long hard carry and put it down on the back of the truck to take to be weighed. When weighed after arriving at the local pub the pig went 79 kgs gutted which was a good effort by my 3 older dogs and two up and coming pups.
Since the first hunt my Marshall gear has been used to great effect finding not only my dogs and a heap more pigs but also friends dogs who found their Tracking gear not up to scratch and unable to locate their dogs. Also since having it one of my friends has since got rid of his Contact Pro and is now using the Marshall gear as well. To great effect he was converted after seeing the results.
I would recommend the Marshall tracking gear to any one who wants gear that is tough and works. It's great gear that really makes hunting and finding dogs heaps easier.

You no when you own something and you are always looking at new and different product because you are not 100% happy with what you have got, well that is what I was like to until I got my Marshall tracking gear. (Have not looked at tracking on trade me or eBay since).
I have owned easy track and contract pro, the reason I didn’t like them as
follows:
- Easy track- it worked well but it was a pain to hunt with in the bush because of it size and it also did not like water at all even light rain stop it from working and I had to send it back
- Contract pro- the size was great but I had a lot of problems with the collars I had problem turning them on and off and also the aerials keep breaking. I also had some collar just died from not reason and had to be replaced
The things I like about my marshal gear is the size it is not too big and you get a lot more range and better direction.
Having AA’s batteries in the collars instead of the batteries which cost 10 to 20 bucks a battery plus the AA batteries are very easy to get hold of, you can get them any where.
Another great thing is it gives you a lot less interferon’s from the collars which are close to you when you are tracking a collar which is a long way away, I rarely have to turn the collar of beside me.
Marshall have put a lot of time in to designing this product and the have thought about every type problem and try to fix it.
The best example is the way it follows down, it is simple but solves the sizes problem.
So far I have found nothing which I don’t like about this unit and really rate the product because of the way in which marshall back their product. There aren’t that many companies in the world like that any more.

This testimonial has no happy ending or the big mountain boar that every one dreams of catching.
What it does have is the importance of having a tracker that works in steep thick country with pin point accuracy.
We were hunting a property in the blue mountains which is very steep an extremely thick we were walking a gully when the dogs got keen an ran. We waited for the hit but nothing so we continued on and one of the dogs returned but Asha didn't.
I took out my Marshall system and she was along way from us as it just had signal on the far setting.
The walk took 3 hours till I found her, not being able to see any more then a foot in front of me the trackers guided me straight to her.
She wasn't in good shape so I carried her as far as could and had to make the
decision to leave her and retrieve her in the morning.
The next day the trackers done there job, only this time when I turned the system on they had a different beep my heart stopped, it was the down dog beep the Marshall is fitted with again they guided me straight to her.
A quick whistle and her head lifted, she managed to walk out and we took her straight to the vet, she was badly dehydrated and was put on a drip.
She started to come good over the next couple of days when all of a sudden she went down hill eventually she gave up the fight.
It turned out she had a reaction to the thistles that were in the gully which shut her organs down.
I highly recommend the Marshall Tracking system and PowerMax collars, easy to use and very compact making the system very easy to carry .
Without the Marshall tracking system Asha would never of been found or come out of that gully alive.
R.I.P Asha
